Tapes can be roughly divided into three basic categories according to their structure: single-sided tape, double-sided tape, and substrate-free tape
1. Single-sided tape (Single-sided Tape): that is, only one side of the tape is coated with an adhesive layer.
2. Double-sided tape (Double-sided Tape): that is, a tape with an adhesive layer on both sides.
3. Transfer tape without base material (Transfer Tape): that is, a tape without base material, which is only composed of release paper directly coated with adhesive. The above three tape categories are the basic categories according to the structure. We also often use the substrate type to name the tape, such as foam tape, cloth tape, paper tape, or add adhesive to distinguish the tape, such as acrylic foam tape.
In addition, if classified according to the purpose, the tape can be divided into three categories: daily use, industrial and medical tape. Among these three categories, there are more subdivided uses to distinguish tapes, such as anti-slip tapes, masking tapes, surface protection tapes, and so on.
